Some of the awards were automatically given to me for any of a number of things. The Army Commendation Medal was withheld then never properly filed. Although I am told I was put in for one, I have no paperwork to support it, nor do I have anything to say the award was reduced to another award (which is usually what happens when its not approved). So I am sure the paperwork is somewhere considering who filed it on my behalf, I just don’t have a copy. It was also awarded just prior to leaving the Army so tracking it down is difficult now, and not as important as it was while I was serving since I’ll never have a chance to wear it now. Everything else I have paperwork to prove.
