The Computer Hardware Chart Identifies Your PC’s Parts

Now this is kewl. A chart that shows all of the various components used in building a computer. Although a little pricey to order a hardcopy print from deviantART.com the full 24MB PNG file is available which means you could go to wal-mart instead and print it yourself. $50 for just a print of something that will be out of date in a year just seems a little high priced to me.

At a quick glance I noticed that it’s missing the old IBM Microchannel format, also known as MCA, and floppy drive ports.  This is also version 1.7 so I’m assuming its a work in progress too.

Not that I have much use for this now, but back in high school when I worked in a computer store this would have been more than useful to have on the wall to explain to customers the limitations of there computer systems. This was mid-90′s, when people automatically assumed I was a “hacker” because I opened the case. Now we consider that a garden variety geek.

Ah, how I miss those days. Then again it was rather bothersome to explain to someone the difference between a 5¼” floppy drive and a CD-rom, AFTER they broke a CD in the drive by forcing the locking arm down on it.
