The South Korean company CMNet has created a new game called “3Feel” which has taken gaming to a whole new level. In short it could be classified as a MMORPG, but the object is to engage in sexual acts with other members. If that wasn’t enough there are USB enabled vibraters and other accessories. In a sense…, its giving cyber sex a whole new meaning. Don’t get too excited just yet though. This new game has created such a controversy that its likely that the Korean government may never allow it to be published.
The Hankyoreh Shinmun reported Thursday that controversy is blowing concerning the anticipated appearance of online games that will feature characters that can engage in sexual acts in cyberspace. The paper reported that the game company CMnet finished development of its online game “3Feel,” which utilizes 3D graphics, and released a beta version Wednesday. Similar single-player games have appeared in the United States and Japan, but this is the first time a game of this nature has been released in online-form. According to the Hankyoreh, the game will allow users to create online male and female characters who can engage in frank sexual acts

It was designed by a Korean company and yet the Korean government is debating allowing the release of something like this. Korea pornography law prohibits anything that shows penetration or the lower section of males. The company CMNet had a display at E3 recently but was not allowed to show their demonstration video because it was too graphic.Below are a couple screen shots of the game and judging from them the graphics are mediocre at best. Making this more of an animated or “manga” style game that virtual. However the interactivity should pull more than enough weight to make the graphics acceptable.
Locations take place in a variety of places from the beach, to the subway.
Due to the amount of uniqueness behind this game I see no reason why it would never be produced. Even though Korea has strict guidelines on pornography, I think that if they don’t allow this game to come to light the company will relocate to another country (like the U. S.) and get approval there.
