This site originated back in 1997 originally. Since then I have evolved from having a single page that I made myself in notepad, to using Frontpage 2000 with extensions, then finally too a PHP based content module script which you see now. It started as a high school project then I just decided to keep the site cause it was hosted for free on Geocities.
Around 2001 I purchased the domain “RazorNylon.com”. I tried several other names but they were all taken. RazorNylon was my Screen Name on AIM. I came upon that name one night only because I was running out of ideas to make a new name. I wanted a name that was unique and original, didn’t have any numbers in it, and used the proper spelling of all words used. Thus RazorNylon was born. I was so happy to have a name after several hours, I didn’t care about the anything else. It had a catchy ring to it as well. Now it has become my domain name and seems to stick in peoples mind rather easily.
I went the route of getting a domain because I was moving a lot at the time, was using dial-up internet still cause I was living out in the middle of nowhere, and was sick of changing my e-mail address. My web page was nothing special. A couple links, and a page of myself with pictures so I could send the link to people I was talking to online instead of uploading pictures on my slow internet. The hosting package came with 50megs of space and only cost around $3.00 a month. This was well worth it too me for the simple need of a domain so I no longer had to change it. And I haven’t had to change my e-mail since.
That was over 4 years ago and now I have gone all the way to creating a more professional looking and elaborate page that includes a massive amount pictures and other things. Why? Cause I get asked for the pictures when I am taking them, and its really easy to forget who to send what picture to which e-mail that is written only on a napkin. I tell the person check my webpage, and if they forget its their fault not mine. It makes my life easier and I can go on taking pictures without anyone giving me a lecture on how important these snapshots they have never seen are to them. I only have to say…, “They are on my website, RazorNylon.com” and they say ok, and walk away.
This site is a little more than pictures now. I am starting a blog which seems right cause everyone has one now…, except me. I have included some other stuff that in some way or another involves me and my intrests. Basically, this is one big web page about me, that is in a way a community of my friends and their friends.
I more than welcome constructive critism, insults and anything else you have to say about me or my website. You can view my profile here. Which does change from time to time. You should be able to find out anything else about me there.
I do hope you enjoy my site, and stay for more than a second. Don’t forget to come back to as it is always changing.
Thank you,
-Adium
